Since we naturally also fancy cakes during the Christmas season or the birthdays of our loved ones are just around the corner, we have another suitable recipe for you!
Would you like to use one of our cake images for your cake? That's a great idea! Before you start baking the cake, it's best to place the cake image in a dry place protected from light (please not in the fridge). It's best to store it in the same way we sent it to you - airtight packaging. Otherwise the cake image could dry out and we don't want that!
If you have put the cake picture aside, we can now start with the cake!:)
Speculoos cake
What you need:
- 250 gramsbuttersoft
- 150 grams Cane sugar or brown sugar
- 5 medium sized Eggs
- 250 grams wheat flour
- 100 gramsground almondsblanched
- 1 a pack of baking powder
- 2 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon grated orange peel
- 150 millilitersmilk
- 100 grams Spice speculaas approx. 10 cookies
Step 1:
You can use any shape you like. We make the recipe with a Bundt cake pan (approx. 24 cm diameter). Grease the pan and dust with flour. Break or chop the speculatius into small pieces. Preheat the oven to 175 degrees (top and bottom heat).
Step 2:
Beat the soft butter with the sugar for a few minutes until fluffy. Stir in the eggs one at a time. Mix the flour, almonds, baking powder, cinnamon and orange zest if desired.
Step 3:
Stir in the dry ingredients alternately with the milk. Use enough milk until the cake falls heavily and tears from the spoon.
Step 4:
Fold in the speculaas pieces. Pour the dough into the tin, smooth it out and bake for about 40-45 minutes (do the toothpick test). Leave to cool in the tin for at least 10 minutes, then turn out.
Once the cake has cooled, you can easily place our cake pictures on it and have a beautiful and incredibly delicious cake! Bon appetit!
